Experimental portraits in my home studio

I don't normally see the rolleicord being used for portraits or in studio shoots so I thought to give it a go and see it's limitations.

For the set up I used two continuous lights, one to act as they key-light or main source which will create the shape and a second for some fill/rim lighting in another colour.

The key-light had a soft box on it to diffuse and spread the light over the model in a flattering way. Using a key light with a soft box is probably the go-to no-brainer set up.

The second light for the fill or rim light (as we kept switching things up) had the reflector head on it which acts to amplify and create a good spread of light. This second light is not as bright as our keylight so this helps give it some added power.

We used a grey paper roll for the backdrop which we later crumpled as well and used as a prop.

I also used a magnifying glass as a diopter for some of these to get closer than the min. focal length. This proved tricky as the viewing lens isn't exactly what the taking lens sees but I got lucky!

I shot a total of 3-4 rolls from memory and these are the best of the bunch.
